Texas Hunter is thrilled to announce the winner of our #70SeasonsContest: Mike and Kenzi Burnside! As part of their well-deserved prize, the Burnside family will receive our exceptional Wrangler Ground Blind.

Mike's dedication to providing his daughter, Kenzi, with an incredible hunting experience has been truly inspiring. Using innovative solutions like a scope-mounted camera and tablet setup, Kenzi is able to see the hunt through Mike's eyes. With help from her mother, Janet, Kenzi uses a unique vacuum air actuator system to take her shot, allowing her to participate fully in the experience from their pop-up blind.

On their 80-acre Oklahoma hunting ground, Mike and Janet’s love and creativity have allowed Kenzi to harvest numerous deer. However, hunting in fabric blinds has been challenging due to exposure to cold winds, rain, and noise levels. When asked how a Texas Hunter blind would improve their hunts, Mike said:

"Kenzi can't move her toes or rub her hands like most people can, and she's more affected by cold than others. Having a controlled environment, like the Wrangler blind, will make hunting more comfortable and enjoyable for her. The hard-sided blind will also reduce noise, making communication easier for her hunting team, while offering protection from extreme weather conditions."

At Texas Hunter, we were moved by their story and realized that we could do even more to enhance their experience. While Kenzi’s various wheelchairs help her cross different terrains, they don’t fit into most blinds, including ours—requiring Mike to carry her in and out of the field. To address this, we’re customizing a Wrangler Ground Blind with a wider door to accommodate Kenzi’s wheelchair, ensuring her ultimate comfort during hunts.

The Burnsides' inspiring story is a reminder of the power of parental love and resilience.
