COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Varun Chowdhury swept the boards as the last JOAD Olympian and Adult Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for 2024 were decided. These awards form part of USA Archery’s Achievement Award Program.
Chowdhury claimed bronze in barebow, compound and recurve. He also managed silver in barebow and gold in compound (all indoor). Chatham Ewing was another who managed awards at gold, silver and bronze level. The 58-year-old from Shaker Heights, Ohio claimed one of each in recurve (outdoor).
The JOAD Olympian and Adult Gold, Silver and Bronze awards form part of the USA Archery Achievement Program, which provides achievement award pins for progressive scoring achievements, and encourages youth and adult archers to accomplish goals in the sport of archery.
There was similar success among those competing for the JOAD Olympian awards. Kyler Clark and Ashvika Singh managed awards at gold, silver and bronze level. Sixteen-year-old Clark, of Crawford, Colo. achieved his in fixed pins (indoor). Singh, a 14-year-old from Valencia, Calif., was successful in recurve (outdoor).
In addition to a certificate and pin, Bronze JOAD Olympian awards are recognized with a backpack, Silver JOAD Olympian awards are recognized with a lightweight jacket, and Gold JOAD Olympian awards are recognized with a belt buckle.
