West Henrietta, NY – Braden Gellenthien of Scott Archery and Custom Bow Equipment won the SoCal Shootout this past weekend.
"Braden continues to be a force on the archery field," said Pro Staff Coordinator Darrin Christenberry. "Weekend after weekend he is finishing atop a podium. He's one to keep your eyes on as he travels to Rome for the World Cup Finals next week."
Gellenthien began the weekend strong, finishing off first in the qualification round. The elimination round proved challenging, with the course facing rough and choppy winds. Gellenthien maintained his course by remaining calm and focusing on the target ahead of him. Once in the finals, he started off with a low-scoring 8, only to improve as the match went on and pull ahead to take home first place.
"I've been working hard in practice and slowly gaining tournament results to prove it, and today was a major step forward!" said Gellenthien. "I feel like I'm hitting my stride just in time for the World Cup Final next week - and it can't come soon enough.
