NBEF Holds Treestand Safety Instructor Certification

Rapid City, South Dakota, March 28, 2016: The NBEF recently held a Tree Stand Safety Instructor Course for the New York Department of Conservation hunter ed and bowhunter ed instructors. The expanded "train the trainer" curriculum certifies lead trainers in the latest techniques regarding tree stand safety. This group of elite instructors will join the ranks of over 500 national and international Certified Tree Stand Safety Instructors.

The NBEF's Safe Treestand Strategies DVD and accompanying Instructor Guidelines serve as the basis for the eight hour course curriculum. Participants receive classroom instruction as well as vital hands-on safety techniques when hunting from an elevated position. These lead instructors will take their newly acquired knowledge and disseminate it to fellow instructor team members and on to their students. The state of New York currently certifies tens of thousands of students per year in their hunter ed and bowhunter education programs

"With tree stand related incidences becoming the leading cause of injury within the hunting community, safe tree stand usage education is a vital investment to the future of hunters", said Marilyn Bentz, Executive Director of the National Bowhunter Education Foundation.
