Lancaster Archery Foundation Gives Grants to USA Archery

The Lancaster Archery Foundation is providing a grant to USA Archery to help send a team of young archers to the World Archery Youth Championships in Wroclaw, Poland, this summer.

Held every two years, the World Youth Championships Aug. 9-15 is expected to draw hundreds of young archers from all over the world to the world-class archery venue in Wroclaw, giving them the chance to experience high-level international competition. Archers compete in the Junior – under 21 – and Cadet – under 18 – age divisions in recurve and compound categories.

The Lancaster Archery Foundation has agreed to grant up to $12,000 to USA Archery, which would provide $500 to each archer for travel expenses, for a full team of 24 archers selected to represent the United States. Archers selected for the world team are required to pay travel expenses to the tournament.

“The Foundation is excited to help ease the burden on these young athletes so they can focus on this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” the foundation’s board members stated.

USA Archery CEO Rod Menzer commented: “USA Archery is so grateful for the generous support of the Lancaster Archery Foundation. This is an incredible opportunity for our youth archers to gain valuable international experience. Representing our nation on the world stage is a dream and an honor for so many, and we’re thankful for this grant helping to make that dream a reality. We’re looking forward to bringing home the gold – let’s go Team USA!”

Based in Lancaster, Pa., the Lancaster Archery Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expand, develop and promote 3D and target archery to help people improve their confidence, discipline and leadership skills through participation in competitive archery.
