Robbins Named NBEF Regional Coordinator

The National Bowhunter Education Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Steven Robbins as the regional coordinator for the southeastern US. Robbins' territory includes Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

"Steven will be a great asset to the 10-state region in the southeast. His training, skills, and enthusiasm for the NBEF program will grow the opportunities for others to obtain their bowhunter education certificate," said Marilyn Bentz, NBEF executive director =.

Robbins has been a regional hunter safety coordinator for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for 14 years. Currently, he administers the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) and is a Master Bowhunter Education Instructor for Florida.

With Robbins being a life-long bowhunter and firearms hunter and FWC employee, stepping into the role of program administrator came natural to him. Under his guidance and training programs NASP and bowhunter education have grown significantly in numbers of students and geographical areas serviced. Florida is one of the many states now offering the distance learning courses for bowhunter education and Robbins is largely responsible for the increased availability of field days in relation to the course. Robbins also is creative about using the field day curriculum during other outdoor activities and camps so that students can obtain their bowhunter education certification while attending other functions.

Robbins can be contacted directly at steven.robbins@MyFWC.com or (386) 754-1655.
