The Murray Road Agency, a leading marketing agency serving the outdoor industry and related verticals, is seeking an experienced senior communications specialist to join its growing team in Charleston, S.C.
The agency is looking for a strategic communicator with experience in public relations, communication and/or marketing. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day client and media relationships, providing strategic communications counsel, and driving successful public relations initiatives. The ideal candidate is an accomplished writer and strategic thinker who understands how to tailor messaging, strengthen brands and engage target audiences across a variety of industries and subject areas.
Knowledge of the outdoors, such as fishing, hunting, camping, shooting and boating is a plus.
This full-time, in-office position offers the opportunity to work alongside a passionate team dedicated to serving leading brands in the outdoor space.
Responsibilities:
- Writing, editing and managing content.
- Monitoring metrics and reporting to clients.
- Leading client meetings.
- Developing and leading campaign strategies.
- Identifying new opportunities for clients.
- Communicating with media regularly to secure coverage opportunities.
- Managing media inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications, business, sales or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience.
- Shows a high level of attention to detail and strategic thinking.
- Skilled writer and editor.
- Experience in managing multiple accounts and projects.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with media, clients and industry partners.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Crisis communications experience.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Experience with analytics and reporting.
