New River, Arizona – Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Conservation’s (AZSFWC) “Conserving Wildlife” license plate continues its success of funding wildlife habitat projects, educating people about conservation efforts and aiding in the recruitment and retention of our young people.
Every time someone purchases or renews one of these Conserving Wildlife license plates through the state of Arizona, AZSFWC receives $17 of the $25 cost. Arizona residents can purchase one of these plates here: https://servicearizona.com/
Revenue from the sale of these plates is placed in a dedicated grant fund account called The L. Gary Stinson Grant Fund. On a quarterly basis, the AZSFWC Grant Committee reviews grant applications from qualified Arizona 501(c)(3) organizations to ensure they meet the Stinson Grant requirements.
Stinson Grants provide funding for habitat projects beneficial for all species of wildlife in Arizona, including game, non-game, and fish. It is also a source of funding for conservation education events and programs, as well as for youth recruiting and retention initiatives.
For the first two quarters of 2021, twelve Stinson Grants were awarded as follows:
- $20,600 to the AZ Deer Association for renovating multiple game waters.
