DENTON AND FALKS NAMED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AS USA ARCHERY ANNOUNCES ELECTION RESULTS

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Archery’s Board of Directors will have two new representatives in 2025 as a result of elections for the At-Large Director.

Joining the board are Douglas Denton and Laval Dee Falks. Both are familiar faces within the archery community. Denton will serve a three-year term, with Falks – filling a vacancy – serving for two years. Each will take their seat on the USA Archery Board of Directors on January 1, 2025.

Denton first became hooked on archery as a nine-year-old and it has been his passion ever since. Not only does he still compete in USA Archery events, but he has become one of the foremost technical minds in the sport, working at the last four Olympic Games and also serving on World Archery’s technical committee.

He said, “I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve on the USA Archery Board, and I want to express my sincere thanks for your trust and support.

“I am committed to representing the needs and goals of our archery community, fostering growth and inclusivity, and advancing our sport at all levels.

“I look forward to working with each of you to strengthen our organization, promote excellence, and ensure that USA Archery continues to be a leader in the archery world. Thank you for this privilege. I am excited to get to work on your behalf.”

Falks, on the other hand, has been an archery coach for more than 20 years, during which time his archers have gone on to represent the USA at numerous international tournaments.

He has been a head coach, team leader or personal coach for 50 international archery events including the Youth Olympic Games, Youth World Championships, World Field Championships, World 3D Championships, European Youth Championships, and many world ranking events.

“Thank you to everyone who placed their trust in my ability to serve as an effective member of the USA Archery Board of Directors and gave me their vote,” Falks began.

“I promise that I will always have the USA Archery membership’s best interest in mind when I cast a vote. You are always welcome to contact me and bring your thoughts and feelings regarding our great organization and its programs to my attention.

“I will do my best to represent all of the membership during my tenure as a Board Member.”

The USA Archery Board of Directors represents the interests of the archery community and its athletes by providing the organization with policy, guidance and strategic direction.

It also oversees the management of USA Archery and its affairs but does not manage the organization. The Board focuses on long-term objectives and impacts, empowering the Chief Executive Officer to manage a staff-driven organization with effective Board oversight.
