The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources launched IHEA PathPerks, becoming the second state agency to offer newly certified hunters pro-level gear pricing from over 200 outdoor brands including Hornady, Swarovski Optik, Weatherby, and Vortex Optics. Co-developed by the International Hunter Education Association and Guidefitter, the no-cost program reaches Alabama's approximately 500,000 hunters at no expense to the state or students.

Idaho Fish and Game is seeking members for a new Hunting and Advanced Technology (HAT) working group that will assess public perspectives on what technology is—or is not—considered “fair chase” in the pursuit of game.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is hiring up to eight warden positions around the state. The deadline to apply is Aug. 15. Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree — or will receive their degree by Jan. 6, 2025 — in wildlife management, range management, biology, zoology, ichthyology or other closely-related fields.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is currently accepting nominations for the Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame and the newly created Youth Conservationist of the Year award. These initiatives aim to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the state’s outdoor heritage.

Hunters and landowners are encouraged to offer their feedback on big game issues during the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s public information meetings this winter. These meetings, which are scheduled in each Game and Parks district, begin at 6:30 p.m. local time and will last 2½ hours.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is asking for the public’s help to find the person(s) responsible for illegally killing an adult pronghorn antelope buck. AZGFD investigators believe the unlawful killing of the pronghorn happened between Aug. 21-24, 2023.

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is seeking public review of the draft 2023–2032 Virginia Black Bear Management Plan through September 5, 2023.

MassWildlife is holding a hybrid public hearing on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 on proposed regulations that would extend the dates of the archery deer hunting season in Wildlife Management Zones 1–9 by two weeks.
